Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell admits he has experienced a mental breakdown and has struggled from this gloomy period.
At a Glance Sports – Ben Chilwell, who signed to Chelsea from Leicester this summer, has managed to impress with the Blues recently.
This impressive performance made him invited to Gareth Southgate's England squad.
However, despite his success in the field, it was Chilwell who wrote on his personal account on Twitter,
That he struggled once struggled when he was at some point in 2019 that didn't support him at all.
“Last year I had a period where my confidence took a hit and it affected me in my daily life.” Chilwell wrote on Twitter.
“I ended up talking to someone about it and found it really helpful.
“In football especially people don't like to show weakness. But talking about difficulties or problems in your life with other people is important.
“Everyone's going through something and hopefully someone who sees this tweet,
“Can feel they could easily talk to someone about something that was bothering them, which they felt they couldn't before.”

Chillwell also shared a message on his Instagram story, accompanied by a note that reads:
“I think it's important for all of us to talk about this topic, especially with everything that's happening right now.”
This 23-year-old player started his career at Chelsea by contributing one goal and two assists in his first three appearances in the Premier League.
