Jose Mourinho believes Gareth Bale's entry from the bench was not a mistake for Tottenham, who were held to a 3-3 draw by West Ham
At a glance Sports – Jose Mourinho gave Gareth Bale his second Tottenham debut when Spurs were 3-0 up, but his debut was deemed not up to expectations.
Spurs took a three-goal lead in Sunday's Premier League clash, with Son Heung-min's goal and Harry Kane's opener leading 3-0 after 16 minutes.
But Fabian Balbuena found Hugo Lloris' goal and an own goal by Davinson Sanchez gave the Hammers even more confidence until the equalizer ended.
Bale was introduced as a substitute in the 72nd minute, losing himself a golden opportunity as the Spurs led 3-2.
However, Mourinho does not believe that Bale's entry has had a negative effect on the Spurs.
“I don't think so, to be honest I don't. “The decision to play in the second half is a good decision,” said Mourinho.
“He was very well received in the group. Everyone likes her, and I'm sure she likes what she's found here too.
“So everything is positive and the focus is not on him. The focus was on the game and he was on the bench for 65 minutes.
“It's a shame he couldn't score the fourth goal when he got the golden opportunity. But that's football. ” closed Mourinho.

In July, Mourinho said Spurs lacked a player mentality following the 3-1 loss to Sheffield United.
The Portuguese coach did not want to blame similar reasons on this occasion.
Citing the fact that Spurs have made several additions to their team since then.
“I don't want to bring that up again. We have new players. We are playing much better than last season. I can say the same about West Ham, “he added.
“West Ham are a much better team than when David Moyes arrived. The team is evolving, we are playing much better, we know how we want to play.
The draw in the match made Spurs have to be willing to share points by West Ham.
